How Mike & Kico Lin improved my life By Don Lee
Linda first meet Kico and Mike about 15 years ago and they became close friends. About nine years ago I became friends with Kico and Mike. Now we are extended family to each other. They have taken us around the world and to unique places including Copper Canyon in Mexico, Eastern and Western China, Mongolia, Siberia, Iguazu Falls in Argentina, and Antarctica. We meet leaders of companies, politicians, and the wealthy that normally we would not have the opportunity to meet.
Their friends accepted us into their circle enough to see a different level of sophistication in business and philosophies of life. Another very strong trait is their friend’s loyalty to each other. Their philanthropic donations and more importantly many hours of time is another powerful example of one of their philosophies to help others. Their leadership by helping others versus telling others what to do is something I also admire about them both.
Mike has a Ph.D., manages 100s of acres of their almond ranches, and is humble and caring ~ he never insists we call him nor refers to himself doctor. He speaks & sings in Taiwanese, Mandarin, English, and Japanese and a former rugby star. When we travel he keeps a watchful eye protecting us and especially the older ones. He is a strong quiet force and is someone I admire.
Having them as personal role models, mentors, and their very close friendship we can count on (and have) has given us a mental safety net and we try to return the friendship the best we can. Mike and Kico have many of these relations showing a boundless amount of love for many close friends in their lives that is another great way to live life.
